Fan Blower

1st post, new to this forum. Hello! I just purchased a 1970 C10, and my question is: the fan blower constatantly blows, even at the lowest switch setting. It that common in this model? or is there an issue with the switch or the resistor? these pieces aren't expensive by any means but if it ain't broke don't fix it. Some help please! ~ Lorenzo

Re: Fan Blower

If recall correctly, the blower stays on the lowest setting even when you have it "shut off". They did this to help with cab air circulation.

Re: Fan Blower

We've had a 71, 67, 72, and another 72 . Don't think any of them stayed on when set to the lowest setting.

Re: Fan Blower

My '70 C20 with AC shuts the fan off. It is possible that a later switch has been installed, given the age. I don't know if trucks ever got the "Flow-Through Ventilation" package like cars did. This flowed air even in the "off" position to keep the passenger compartment clear of smoke, IIRC what the commercials said. In that case, it was really "Low--to-High", with no real off. I also don't know if putting a switch from a car with that feature in the truck (if that is what happened) would make then fan run in the "Off" position.
