73-87 control arms and crossmember

I have a 65 c20 I’m planning on switching to 73-87 c10. I bought a rolling chassis 86 to use as donor. Bottom arms was already cupped. But I found the spring buckets in the cross member are full of rust and holes. The 65 c20 is rust free. Would the 86 upper and lower arms fit the 65 crossmember?

Yes, they should bolt right onto the 65 frame. The 73-87 use difference bushings, but if you take the complete assembly with cross shafts, you should be good to go.

thanks yes, I still have the cross shafts for the 73-87 a arms. I plan on using all new bushings and steering components. I was just un sure the arms would bolt up to the cross member

We have a conversion tie-rod to use the later 73-87 spindle with your earlier 63-70 inner tie-rods and steering components.

Re: 73-87 control arms and crossmember

Just to get a better understanding, I have a 1972, Chevy C10. If I bought 1
1973-1987 Control arms, Spindles, Rotors, calipers, inner/outer tie rods, etc, to use with the 1972 c10 center link, this would work, right?

Re: 73-87 control arms and crossmember

You can use all 73-87 parts with your centerlink, but must keep the inner tire rods, then just change the outer to 73-87. The thread is the same (11/16) on 71-72 and 73-87 outers. No need to change inners, plus they match the center link where the 73-87 wont.

Bolts right up ! My 68 has the 73-87 swap, it's not difficult at all. You have to drill two holes but that's it.
