Digital Gauges Diffrence NVA, Dakota & Classic Instruments
Guys
Looking at new gauge cluster options for LS2 swap with 4L80e trans Lots of options NVA, Speed Hut, Dakota and Classic all top of the line products. Whats the difference of Dakota, Classic Instruments and NVA? * Classic - seems to be a few dollars less and includes the bezel * Dakota - a few more dollar's, no bezel and looks like I need to order a few other items to connect to my computer? * NVA - looks very similar to factory - no bezel and need to order speed sender It seems all have received high reviews from the group but just trying to figure out which one might be a better fit for me. Any insight suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

Re: Digital Gauges Diffrence NVA, Dakota & Classic Instruments
I have Dakota in the 69 Camaro - love them for that car. Fit and finish is superb and the way it connects to the car makes it easier to install.
I have the Classic in the 68 C-10 - I like them. It is an all in one package. One thing I do not like on the Classic panel is the lighting. When sitting in the drivers seat with lights on, you can actually see bright white light coming from the sides of the gauges. Annoying at best. The gauge face is pulled back from the glass and therefore the light ring around it is much brighter than the gauge. Another drawback is how you program the speedometer. You must drive the vehicle to get initial readings. Then you go back to the garage and pull the gauges out again and flip dip switches. The Dakota does not have either of these issues. To program the speedo you simply drive it then press buttons you hide somewhere. No need to pull it back out. Looks - I like the Classic gauges looks in my C10 over the Dakota. Just fits the truck better for me. HTH |

Subscribed. I've been trolling different gauge options for some time and I just can't decide either. I've been leaning toward Dakota but I can customize my setup more with Speedhut. This is painful.

I am extremely happy with my hdx Dakota digital gauges in my c20. Lighting can be adjusted for day and night. I have no complaints the quality is amazing. Now that the android app is available set up is a breeze.
You can order a module that plugs into your obd2 port and displays all tempature speeds volts air intake temp etc. Well worth the money.
