New video of my C10
One of the hobbies I like goofing around with (beside sinking money into old cars) is video production. I recently got a 4K drone and gimbal camera added to the tech bin and have started messing around with it. Timing is good as I am getting ready to sell this truck for another C10 I recently acquired.
Enjoy... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uBf6we0ephI&t=2s |

Re: New video of my C10
Mavic Pro. I originally tried the GoPro Karma and that was a bucket of flying disappointment. Battery life was about as long as my kids attention span, it was as stable as a new born giraffe, and was buggy like a motel 6 mattress. I returned it after 2 days and was going to get the Phantom 4 BUT the you can't beat the size of the Mavic. I travel so it was perfect. I am super impressed with it. Lots of learning though. Theres so many freaking buttons!

That was a GREAT video. Awesome just Awesome! Any truck video with a train wins. The captions were a great touch also. Very nice truck you got there. Thanks for posting that.

Re: New video of my C10
Cool video! I've always wanted to try something like that. My inlaws have this really cool rolling hills property with a trail, and I thought it would be neat to follow along with a drone while driving down the trail. I always wondered, can you control the camera position and fly the drone at the same time? I imagine it takes some skill and practice. I love the details on the truck you included too. Now that's how you make a for sale ad!

Great video Might consider changing the graphic that says "LS1 5.3" to "LSX 5.3" or find out exactly which 5.3 it is? LM5, LM7 etc.

Re: New video of my C10
You did a nice job. Good use of a drone. Drones are a love hate thing with me. I really want to keep hating on them because of how Ive seen em used around here. But then you see a cool video like you put together and I think ... Hmm, you could do some cool stuff with one of those things.
And on a side note, Holy cow is your area of the country flat!!!

Re: New video of my C10
Ha! Yeah. We moved from Colorado to Oklahoma. The landscape was a downgrade for sure.
Drones are getting much better. They are much quieter and way more advanced. The complex shots are automated now. Like the aerial circle around the truck was automated and the following shot down the road was automated (mostly). It takes a ton of practice to manually capture shots (like the train). My first drone shots are so bad. It also is very expensive when you crash these drones... don't ask me how I know. So practice! I get the ignorant use of them... The biggest thing for me is to be aware of who is around. Don't be a nozzle and fly it at a park with a ton of people around, over major free ways, etc. No one likes the buzzing sound so get the drone over 200ft so you can't hear it. Also, don't be afraid to ask land owners to fly over just so you can get a shot. I have never had any of anyone say no and they are always grateful when you email them the footage of their property. As long as your aware of who is around and act like your a guest (even if your on public land) no one has even had issues with it. |
