Redid my instrument cluster

So trying to fix my parking lights turned into a new headlight switch which turned into redoing my instrument cluster. Gotta love the snowball effect. Either way it turned out nice. Now it makes the steering wheel and tach look bad. Never ending list of things to do.lol


So I took it all apart and repainted the backing metal and the needles. Then I ordered up a new glass. Mine was pretty spider webbed. I was a little disappointed when it came and the numbers and all were green but it looks great all together so I'm good with it now.

What type of paint for the needles and what type of paint did you use for the metal backing?

I used normal Rustoleum. Gloss black on the metal backing plate and Chevy engine orange on the needles. Just paint I had laying around. The backing plate was flat or satin but I thought it would pop a little more being gloss. I used a satin on the bezel. The glove box door and ashtray are satin and I did a quick repair on the radio hole that was butchered and added some gauges there I painted that satin too.
