Paint code
I have a 64 GMC pick-up that I want to put back to original color. Checked my old Dupont color chip book and it said that the paint code should be numbers. I found letters on the vin tag "DD" which is a silver metallic on cars in 64. Can't recall that color on 64 trucks. Does anyone know where the code would be, if it has one. Any help would be welcomed. Thanks Bill.....

I dont think that "DD" means much if anything, vin tag "Chevrolet DD" then the vin number under it, mine has this. There should be a tag on the drivers side kick panel with the number your looking for. For example mine is "paint: 537AD" =PPG 12846 Light Blue. autocolorlibrary.com Hope this helps ya.

Have qa tag on left kick panel. All it has is GVW and engine size and horsepower. Thanks anyway.

The color you are seeking is actually called light gray the ditzler number is 32374, the GMC paint code is 13 I beleave. You can confirm my findings at autocolorlibrary.com.
