Clevis (D-Shackle) Mounts...
I just got done building front and rear bumpers for my truck and want to hang some Bow Shackles from them. I want to use something like the mounts in the picture, but at $30 dollars a piece (cheapest I could find from www.r-p4wd.com) they would break the bank for 4 of them. Any one know of cheaper ones?

Or how about a machinest who will make me some for a lot less, (like a case a beer, cause we all know a case of beer is worth its weight in gold when it comes to a trade!)

i second the pics of the bumpers. i've heard of guys using 1 x 2 stock to mount their bumpers, then just running it through the face of the bumper, drilling a hole, and mounting the clevis there.

Tomorrow I will get the pictures developed and maybe wednesday get them scanned over at my parents house. The bumpers aren't finished, but are mounted.

Front, 8" Junior C-Channel , bent twice with a 11 gauge winch carrier. The metal was to thick for my 110v Lincoln MIG to penetrate, had to use buddie's Arc. Have a to piece and 4 KCs on there now. Next or D-Shackles. Bull Bar or not? Opinons? I do like to run into a lot of stuff though.....

Teach me to use plastic horse to cut metal. That is from the C-Channel getting to hot and melting thru the horse, not me cutting it!!!

one more on the rear bumper while on the horses I took that piece and welded some tabs on there to mount to the frame. Those tabs where a 13" piece of 2x3 square tubing ripped in half. The fronts tabs where the 1/4" channel ripped from a 8" C-Channel into a 4" L shape, All 1/2 " grade 8 Bolts holds this puppy to the frame
