Unhappy Noise?

Hi all......In my 72 Blazer...at about 50 miles an hour...when I let off the pedal....I get a racket from the transfer case.....it's not a grinding.....but it is a hell of a racket...and vibration through my t-case shifter handle.....could it be the input bearing? This is in two wheel drive.....and I have a T350 tranny.....Thanks in advance.....

P.S. Keep our troops in your thoughts...they deserve it.

Transfer case...in a 2 wheel drive?

The first thing I would look at is U-joints, and trany and engine mounts.

Is it just a quick noise or is it continuous after you let off the gas? It is a gear drive transfer case there is some gear lash that can reverse load when you let off the gas, it's right under the floor so your gonna hear it. i wouldn't worry about it, unless of course the noise continues as you coast, then you may have a problem.
