NP205 leak at speedo
I had replied to an old thread about getting the sleeve for the speedometer cable part# AC Delco 326651. Are these things just non existent now? I think I broke google looking for this thing. I ordered a 16x10x4 gasket but has not stopped my leak, I'm having trouble seating it in the sleeve. ANY help on a location for the sleeve would be greatly appreciated. Merry Christmas

No luck there, it says discontinued part none available. Is there a new part number or alternate? Someone has to have these somewhere.....

There has been a lot written up on this. I found this: http://www.quad4x4.com/catalog/qu30091. Not sure if it is the right part and is expensive.

Wow! Yeah they are proud of that. Thanks for the link, still trying to see if a rebuild kit would have the seal in it. I'm going to start hitting some transmission shops and ask about a rebuild.

Re: NP205 leak at speedo
Ive used the seal and it stopped a leak for my Jimmy. One thing to note, check to see if there is a groove or rough spot on the shaft where the seal sits. I polished mine and didnt seat the seal in the same spot where a small groove was. If I set it all the way down it would have leaked.

Re: NP205 leak at speedo
66 K10, is the seal you referenced a garlock seal? I ordered some that someone had referenced a 16 x 10 x 4 and they are a hard seal with spring imbedded in the lip. I could not get it into the groove of the sleeve. Maybe by heating it?? Does anyone know if the original seal was just an O ring or this type of seal? I still can't believe out of all the NP205 still out there that the ACdelco part would get discontinued.

It is a small hard seal, I did not see any spring but didnt cut it open. The original did not have a spring as far as I could tell. |
