Did you try your locally owned parts store? Mine (CarQuest) can get it for you if they don't have it in stock.

I have an O'Reilly auto and a AutoZone, they looked at me cross-eyed when I asked for it. I'll see if I can find it at carquest.

So the carrier gets pressed on the shaft, then a yoke goes on, the the bolt and washer to hold on the yoke.

That isn't a slip yoke.

Nope. That's the join between the front and rear drive shafts where the carrier bearing lives, and needs a bolt. It does not slip, unless you are really unlucky. I don't remember the size, but you can try both 3/8-24 and 7/16-20 (fine thread). One of them should work. Then just get a thick fender washer. Or go to the local pick your part yard and get the "exact" replacement.

Re: Where can I find this bolt and washer?

Had the magic idea to use my tap set to find the right size. It is 1/2x20. I chased the rusty threads and it went right down. Also found the hole is drilled a little wonky. Washer is 1.5" wide.

Yup, granted it is possible someone enlarged it from 7/16 to 1/2 at some point in the past 50yrs, could explain the wonky hole.
