Reproduction Parts Questions
My '74 project is in the middle of getting the body and paint done. I am sourcing parts and have a couple of questions:
1. I am replacing the side view mirrors. Most suppliers are in the same general price point. However. . . Sherman has their mirrors priced $20 higher per mirror than AMD, LMC, Top Banana. . . Are Sherman parts that much better that they can justify 38% more than anyone else? 2. In ordering my rubber parts, I see where some suppliers are selling the UPPER DOOR SEAL and specify "the one that goes on the door." My '74 didn't have any door seal on the door. . . just the one on the Cab. Am I supposed to have an UPPER DOOR SEAL on my door? If not, why are so many vendors selling one for a '74? I need to order parts ASAP, so any help will be appreciated. Dave

Re: Reproduction Parts Questions
To answer #2, there were some model years that did have the rubber seal on top of the door, and then it was deleted from the production build later. I can't remember what the years were, but it doesn't HAVE to be there. Mine is an 86, and it definitely did not get one, but I got them anyways.

Re: Reproduction Parts Questions
TKCR, any chance you can post a pic of those upper seals installed? I don't have them on my 85, but think they might help seal my doors a little better than they are now.

Re: Reproduction Parts Questions
Super Dave,
Some of the later models had multiple door seals. On my 75, I have a one piece seal that slips over the body seam around the cab opening. The door itself does not have any rubber seals on it.

Re: Reproduction Parts Questions
Thanks for the responses.
I will be adding the door seals. In Oregon, it can't hurt!
