Buying 56 question
I called a guy about buying a 56 shortbox. He said it was totally redone 3 years ago.It has a 327 auto set up,louvred hood (which I,m not crazy about)a blue interior with S10 seats and Corvette rally wheels. He,s asking 10 g for it.When I asked if there was anything wrong,he said jusyt a loose wire from the alternator. Why in the world wouldn,t he fix it for that kind of money or do you think he,s trying to mask another problem?

Drive train is aged 3 years, probably needs rebuild. For $10k it should be nice and tight. I would be weary of the deal. Bring a refrigerator magnet with you and see if sticks everywhere, if not, it got lots o' filler.....
Of course, looks for custom touches and mods, he may feel it's worth it if there's a bunch of work in it. Hard to say without pics, additional details.

Do you really think a rebuild only lasts 3 years and would need to be done again?

It started in the paper for 12g last year.It is at 9500.Going to take a look at it.Was thinking I,d offer 7G and go from there. My thinking would be that i,d probaly have to spend 10 for a decent one anyways. Will get you some pics when I go.
