255x70x15 on a 10 in.rim
I found the right tire height I like on my Blazer which has a notch and bags. The tires are on a 8 inch rally rim but I don,t like how far the tire sits inside the truck and I want to bring it out to match the front and I don,t think I want to use a 3/4 or 1 inch spacer so I wanted to use the Wheel Vin. 10 inch rallys.I think the Blazers need a taller tire as the blazers are such a big looking box.

I'm not sure of the question, but I think it's recommendations on Wheel Vintique's 10 inch rallys? Squarebody Syndicate has his formula up on his site:
http://squarebodysyndicate.com/sbs-formula.html He uses Wheel Vintique's 15x10" with a 5" backspace in the rear. It looks like the outside face of the front and rear tire align with each other. If you are asking something different, I apologize. |

255/70R15 is just a hair over 10 inches wide. (255 is theoretically 255mm wide, which is 10.04 inches. Sidewall flexing outwards might bring that to about 10.5 inches)
In my experience and research, fitting a 10-inch wide tire on a 10-inch wide wheel only works with low profile tires, where the second number is 50 or below, really short sidewalls. When you start getting into the taller sidewall tires (where the second number is 65 or more), you really need the wheel to be a couple inches more narrow than the tire itself. It's looking like most manufacturers of 255/70r15 tires recommend a 6.5 to 8.5 width for the wheel.

I wouldn't do a 255/70 on a 10.
A 275/60 looks square & I've used that size many times. If you want a taller rear tire than that, a 285/70 is available from Coker (BFG/Silvertown series).

I did have a 285x70 on the back but it just looked too tall and didn,t look right,old pic but get the idea. Maybe a Hoosier or M.T. tire at 29 in. might be worth looking at, Just the 255x70 are brand new. So hard to get the right look with tires and rims , the blazers are so boxy

285/70-15 comes in around 30.7" so the Mickeys @ 29" would be a good compromise.

I agree that that is a wide wheel for the tire size. If you’re buying new wheels, why not see if wheel vintiques will build a 15x8 with custom backspacing.

FYI, this is a 255-70x15 on an 8" wheel. I personally think a 10" wheel would look too wide with a 255 tire.

The 255 on a 8 inch rim does fit perfect. I,ll see how long wheel vin. takes and charges for a custom rim. In the winter a guy just starts getting pickey and spend more money lol

I also have the 8s and 10s and was thinking 255-70s rear and 235-70s front. I wanted the taller tire in the rear because I like the look filling the wheel well better than the top of the well just sitting on the tire like the look of the 275-60s. Truck has a 4 1/2 - 6 drop.

$25 per wheel additional charge for changing backspace w/4-6 week lead time & you have to pay shipping vs a distributer (Summit/Jegs).
