Rear Axle Swap
I want to convert my '69 to 5-bolt. Does it work to swap-in axles from a '71 or '72? I've heard that these are a different length so they don't fit? Might have heard wrong.
It's getting hard to find a complete rear-end from a '71-'72, at least where I live.

Re: Rear Axle Swap
69 rear ends are narrower than 71-71

Re: Rear Axle Swap
I bought a 69 gmc 1500 and it was converted to 5 lug axles, drums and want to go back to 6 lug. I will trade if you cover the shipping. I would like the axles, drums and backing plates. I would send the same in return but for the 5 lug setup.

Re: Rear Axle Swap
I just got the Moser axles as well. Someone had the 1970.5+ axles in my truck and they only sat about halfway on the bearings and only allowed the drums to contact half the brake pad. Get the right axles.
