sheesh which felpro 1 piece oil pan gasket do I need?
truck is an 87 4x4 350.
dip stick is passenger side and it looks like by reaching I need the "thick" gasket. I went to order my gaskets and saw they have one for a 1 piece or a 2 piece rear main seal. what would my truck have came stock with? I need to know this before I order this gasket a long with all the others I will be needing. I take it order the 1 piece rubber oil pan gasket from felpro with a "steel core"? thanks |

Your truck came from the factory with a 1 piece rear main seal engine.

The first one should fit your truck. Its a factory replacement gasket.
The other 2 are for performance engines, where the timing cover may be different. The GM/Delco part number is 10108676 |

What you can do to be sure you have the right gasket is measure the oil pan. Since you are going to have it off, see how large the front semicircle is. That will tell you whether you need the thick or thin gasket. Also, even if you use one of those blue Felpro gaskets, use some sealant on the front between, the oil pan and the timing cover. I replaced mine a couple of times before realizing I needed to do that even though the instructions stated not to.
"place a straight edge across the pan rails, meas. down to the bottom of the lip-if the meas. is 2 3/8", use the thick seal, if the meas is 2 1/4", use the thin seal they made a seal change" |

After years of doing it with the cork gaskets and a dab of rtv, those screw in gasket holders are wonderful lol
