Yes I've converted to 5-lugs all around with disc brakes upfront, new 5 lug axles out back.
Beware that's the wrong bolt pattern to fit a truck. Truck pattern is 5 x 5.

I like Rallys... but I'm waiting for the day I wake up to find some lowlife has stolen the beauty rings. Hasn't happened yet, but I figure that day is coming.

Re: Cragar SS vs Rally Wheels - Sound Off

Rallies are cool. I don't think Cragar makes 8 spoke wheels for my 3/4 ton, which has 8 lugs. Can I get full wheel covers to replace the poverty caps that I currently have on the white 16.5" steelies? SS Tim, do those P01 wheel covers fit the 16.5" wheels? Also, what do they look like? (I'm too tired and lazy to look at the moment).
TX.

I have Cragers SS 17 frt and 18 rear on my 76 monte. At 2 years after living in a garage with less than 500 miles on them, they started pitting. called Crager, they said sorry, you only have a 1 year warranty. Last set I will ever buy.

Re: Cragar SS vs Rally Wheels - Sound Off

That brown step-side has some kinda "knock-off copy" of what looks to me like an Ansen Sprint wheel (Real Racing Wheels), I doubt they're real Ansens, but a lot of companies over the years made there own copy cats probably no current production so E-bay or Yard Sale, eh?.

You can still buy brand new Ansen Sprint wheels in 5x5 pattern from Summit or Jegs. The only size available is 15x8 though. But, if you want virgin new wheels they're just a credit card charge away from your doorstep.

I realize your post is a few years old - but I really like the stance of this truck. What size wheels and tires are on it?

Re: Cragar SS vs Rally Wheels - Sound Off

Both look good
Ralleys look good on everything and cragars look not so good on some trucks (stance etc)
cragars are old school and set your truck apart
ralleys look more stock
I have cragars on my 70 Challenger and am strongly thinking about putting them on my truck so I am a bit biased as cragars meant hot rod when i was a teenager

Just realized there's a 5 year time lapse in this thread....

Lee, just checkin'...... Your 5 lug axle conversion is a 5 x 4-3/4 pattern? Our trucks std. 5 lug is a 5 x 5 pattern. I have 275/60/15 BFG's on 8" truck ralleys on the rear of my '71 GMC s.stepside. 255/60 fronts.

Regarding the rally/Cragar SS question, I vote for the truck ralleys. Like the SS & Corvette rally on cars.

It depends. I like the step side on page 1 with the cragars.
But, rallys are an easy choice.
