My preference is a Dana 80. A Dana 70 will last a little while but the 80 is where it's at IMO.

Alright so I have a source for a nv4500 and transfer case out of a 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 v10. It is the exact transmission I need. Real good deal and the whole kit worked fine with the engine threw a rod. Only downside is I am in Iraq still until January so picking this up isn't an option until then. So if anyone who lives around Denton, Texas would like to do a great favor for me let me know. I will PayPal the guy the money and pick it up when I get back. Got a case of your favorite drink in it for you.

Leander is still a good drive from Denton. I have a friend that is willing to make the trek from Houston to get it. So that might happen after the 1st of the month. We will see how it goes.

Once I get the transmission all I will need is the cross member and a good clean and paint on the engine. Then start the swap.

Alright so it has been some time since I last updated this thread. I haven't really done anything with the truck until recently. I was browsing the cummins forums last week and found all the parts I need to put a P-Pump on my engine. Since the Cummins I bought had the injection pump replaced with a not so great CAV pump I needed a new injection pump.

Then not 2 days later I come across a Borg Warner 64/68/14 turbo for it. Should spool up nicely and hopefully with everything I have planned push me right around 500hp. I will probably add a second turbo later to have a wicked set of compounds. Time will tell.

As of right now I have plans to get a Hamilton Cam for it as well as some SDX 5x.016 injectors. Those injectors will be a tad big for the turbo I have now but will allow me to put twins on later. The pump will get some mods. A 4k governor spring and a fuel plate. Nothing extremely fancy.

I am ordering the parts now and when I get back from Kuwait in June I will start to tear the engine down and rebuild it. Once it is ready the 454 will come out and the Cummins will go in. Still need a transmission for it but that shouldn't be hard to find.

I haven't really ordered to much more. I did place the order for the injectors. I went with Low Budget Diesel injectors. The 5x.014 size. I don't plan on doing to much more to the engine besides my initial plans so that size should work fine. I did order some ARP head studs, 60# valve springs, a 4,000rpm governor spring kit, and a fuel plate for the pump.

As for what is left on my list of parts to get.
-Hamilton Cam 188/210 cam.
-24v Tappets
-Transmission and clutch
-Cross member
-AirDog (Possible)

Hopefully I have all the parts ordered in the next month or two and can have every thing ready to me installed on the engine when I get home.

I wish I did. I have gone through my emails since and hoping to find his info. I regret selling it everyday haha.
