77 door sill screw size
Does anyone know the correct size for door sill screws? It’s been awhile and screws are in mixed bags now.
What’s CORRECT for the sill plates? Last edited by gramps77; 01-20-2018 at 09:38 PM. |

Re: 77 door sill screw size
I think LMC and other companies offer full interior screw kits, but I have found that after 41 years the screw holes in the floor pan are likely worn or rusted out enough that the stock screws don't fit. I think these are special oval head chrome trim screws. I have just used self piercing screws from ACE hardware because I am not a purist. These screws have an aggressive thread with a sort of integrated washer head. I found that this was the only screw which would keep the sill plate in place and counteract the tendency of the carpet to pull the screw back out.
