That looks great! Did you paint it in the truck!? My engine runs like a top but looks every bit of the 50 years old that it is. I wanted to freshen up it's appearance but didn't think painting it in the truck was wise. Maybe I will try it afterall.

Smile Re: What on your truck are you most proud of?

Great thread....
I think for me, its the history and the lack of mechanical molestation on it....lol.
It was bought new by a German guy who was close to middle age at the time and used it largely for light duty recreational purposes in California.
When he got older and to go into seniors care his grown family inherited the truck...but had no real daily use for it, given their own lives at the time.
After that....it was mine pretty quickly.

It isn't perfect by any means, but it is a really nice, original example of a highly reliable and comfortable driver.....and nicely optioned as a deluxe highlander.

No particular point on it is necessarily outstanding....so I can't really identify anything too specific other than its nice history.

All good

I had to put on a new water pump and it was easy to paint the new pump be for installing it. I took all the hoses off the engine then mask everything really good . some guys use aluminum foil for masking. I left the carb on, just mask the heck out of it. It is my second time doing a engine paint job. It gets better each time. go ahead and do it you will be super happy! have fun, a1

My build is almost complete, and I really like how the interior is turning out. Mostly original with a few small changes and additions that I couldn't resist.
