Gear lube for 2002 S10,5 speed manual trans
Having trouble finding a substitute for the GM recommended lube,P/N 9985648.
I was told that the Pennzoil Sychromesh oil,is the same. What do Y'all think/recommend ?

Pennzoil will work.
I usually just order gm stuff from the dealer. You have an NV1500 if you have a 4 cylinder. You have an NV3500 if you have a 6 cylinder. The part numbers below may be superseded. |

Ames oil also makes syncomesh fluid that works. I’m not sure of the cost it might be more than gm fluid.
