Front Sway Bar question

I have a 1968 Chevy one ton wrecker and it doesn't have a front sway bar on it. I'm not that familiar with this and what it is for.
Can I install one on it?
Should I install one on it?
Will it help with the handling while driving it?
Should it be the 1" or the 1 1/4" bar kit?
Thank you for any education in this matter.

Re: Front Sway Bar question

Yes, it's used for body roll. In a nutshell, it helps to keep the truck level in turns by tieing both sides of the suspension together. You definitely want to go with the 1 1/4" bar

Re: Front Sway Bar question

What I've read it's a huge improvement. I installed an 1-1/4" on mine. My build isn't done yet so I can't tell you the differences in driving. I would use this sites search engine and read about it. I believe TXFIREFIGHTER did a FAQ on it as well where he took pics of everything and even listed the Moog part number for new bushings that you can get at any local parts store. That's where I got the part number for the bushings I bought. They fit pretty good.

One of the single best modifications I did on my truck....period. I'm now running front and rear. It will transform your driving experience.

Re: Front Sway Bar question

I know my 87 needs one. The body roll is... not good. Body roll gets annoying pretty fast. Even just under normal driving conditions.
