3 speed saginaw removal help
So I want to pull out my transmission. I have the driveshaft out already. I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the bottom two bolts out. The factory service manual just says to remove them. The bolts are so close to the clutch I can't get a socket in there. The rear crossmember is in the way so I can't even get a standard wrench in there. What am I missing? Thanks.

Re: 3 speed saginaw removal help
The lower bolts are inside the bell housing after you remove the cover. An offset 3/4 in. box wrench will fit them. You may have to heat & bend the wrench to fit.

Re: 3 speed saginaw removal help
Ugh. Looks like I need to go to some pawn shops and find a wrench. I only have a map gas torch. Not sure that will be enough. I did remove the access cover just couldn't figure out how to get a wrench in there. Thanks
Edit: looks like the old hf has a set for $15. Probably will give those a try. |
