Anyone seen a gas can...

...that's more horizontally oriented than vertically? I apparently have one of the smaller stock tanks (16 gal) in my K10, and it only gets 10-11mpg. Out here in rural SW Colorado 160 miles isn't very far. I've been wanting to carry an extra 5 gallons in the bed, and ideally lashed underneath the bed-mounted toolbox, but that only gives about 11" of vertical space. Don't necessarily want to lay a typical jerry can over on its side and trust the cap seal. So... looking for a short, squat 5 gallon gas can. Anyone seen something like this?

Re: Anyone seen a gas can...

Boat fuel tanks are very squat. And you could probably hook up one of those hoses with a squeeze bulb pump like would typically go to an outboard motor.

Re: Anyone seen a gas can...

Take a look on Jeep/expedition sites and you'll find plenty of flat fuel "cans" that fit under roof racks. Plan on paying for them, though.
