Adjustable shelving

Thought I would send a link for some of you in the southeast. This is for the company that does most or all of the auctions for the Wal-mart and Sam's stores that closed due to new stores being built. Due to being a auction prices can very, but most of the time if your there for the whole sale you can get some good deals on adjustable shelving that is great for use in any garage, utility room, or storage area. I was at the one this past Saturday and know that there are a few more coming up. Most of the time he gets short notice from Wal-Mart to do the sale so may want to check often or do the mailing list. The one Saturday also included a tire / lube area so it also had the lifts for the ideal garage... they sold from around 700 to 1800 depending on the style.

Included a few pictures of the items I got this time. I have been to a few of them, and every one will be a little different depending on who is biding, but same type of shelving is used at all. Shelving is easy to disassemble and put back up the way it is made, and I have even stood on the wall mounted ones to get the top brackets so I know they will hold 150-160 lbs on a shelf with no problem.

Sales are normally on a Saturday and end about 1-2 pm. Can stay till about 6 day of sale and following day to move, and till 12 or 2 pm the 3rd day. Pictures were on the 2nd day so I had done stripped most of the stuff. Wall sections are 4 ft on center, with a ~ 4ft runner on top of a ~7 ft runner. The wall section I got had about 16 sections total, each averaged 2-22", 1-14",1-16", & 2-12" shelves, and one sheet of 6' tall peg board and bottom shelf. Paid $5 for entire wall.

5 -4ft sections with 2 end caps from the shoe section was $5. Shelves are a lot thinner, but the supports have 1x3 cross braces and do not use the peg board. little easier to set back up. We tossed all of the thin shelves, keep the supports and the wire basket shelves.

Did not get this one but took to show the ones with the top storage. outer post on 8', inters on 4'. 20 or 24 ft total length plus end caps, with shelves. averaged $15 to $30 for each section like this.pic 114.
No pic's of the heavy pallet racking.
Hammer for floor shelves and a 1/2" socket for the wall mount will let you tear them down. If any one thinks they may go to one of the sales let me know and will give a few pointers on what to watch for to save some time.

Did not count the sheets as we loaded it on the trailer, but this bundle of peg board went for $45.

I know they are handy and can be set up to store just about any thing. Plus when you compare to what you can get one of the 3 to 4 ft shelfs from lowe's, you can't beat it. Just thought I would pass on the info. I set up two 4 ft sections for my mother for can goods, set most shelfs for pint others for quarts. Deb's dad has got serveral set up in is wood shop, even took some to make a rack for plywood storage.

Well I can't blame the the guy that was with you during the crash, he may still be scared to come back, not sure about the others.

Thanks for the link. I've been looking to buy a few old Wally-shelves myself, but haven't known where to find the auctions.

Glad to help.
All shelves are made the same, so you can put shelves from the wall on the floor supports. One thing you need to look for if you need wall brackets is to check how the are mounted. The way they should be done is piece of 3/4 ply wood with bolts sticking out, with the plywood nailed to the wall. seen a few where they also nailed through the bracket. They will come down but a real pain. It you see this, bid on the inside walls where the brackets are put up with lag screws. Also a lot of the time they will have some floor units on pallets where they have been disassembled, sometimes they are a little higher but you can just load pallet and all.
