Wheel tub bolt?
Not sure why the rounded head bolts are at the top of the wheel tubs on my 66, but I was planning to weld up the hole and smooth it out. Anyone know why they might be there?

Re: Wheel tub bolt?
The only thing I can think of is that a previous owner had some type of rack or bed divider mounted to the wheel tub(s). There shouldn't be any fasteners in that area - I would also remove and weld up the hole.

Re: Wheel tub bolt?
Thanks guys! I know they had rails cause I had to weld those up too. The inner edge I had some holes that were not fun to smooth out. Couldnt swing a hammer in there so I rigged up a method and used the slide hammer. The tubs shouldnt be too bad. Gonna go out there now and start.

Re: Wheel tub bolt?
Oh, wow! Yeah, there you go. I've seen a few bed racks and dividers in my day mounted in all sorts of ways...unfortunately, almost always to the wheel tubs.
