What do I need fro a 5 lug conversion?
I located a 71/72 LWB with 5 lug hubs. Do I just take the whole rear axle and what about the front? Thanks.

When I changed my 70 to 5 lug I took all my parts off of my 71 donor truck. If I am not mistaken 68 rear end is different than the 70 one, so yours install might not work. All I did for the rear is take the axles out of the 71 (measure them) and put them into the 70 without any problems at all. For the front I took the upper control arms, master cylinder, proportioning valve, spindles, brake lines, and rotors. I had to replace the lower ball joints and I don't remember anything about the tie rod ends, but it has been 5 years, so I can't remember all the details.

Zumo has to swap thwe entire axle assmebly to do it, because he has a 69 and older axle, the widths changed in 70 to the 71 72 width
people need to post what year and what axle they are talking about when they ask questions related to them......... |
