Leaf spring crossmember exhaust interference?
Good afternoon,
I was out in the shop this afternoon looking at what all I need to accomplish next and I have a bit of an epiphany. I had planned on leaving the stock leaf spring crossmember in as it didn't interfere with the truck arms or driveshaft. A little extra support never hurt anything. While staring at it, I thought, I bet that's were the mufflers are going to go when I build a new exhaust. Having not really paid attention to the coil trucks I've seen, is this the same real estate the mufflers occupy? Thanks! |

Re: Leaf spring crossmember exhaust interference?
Shouldn't have any bearing on the muffler location IME.

Re: Leaf spring crossmember exhaust interference?
Hey I’m currently getting read to swap my rear leaf springs to coil spring rear suspension did you purchase that cross member for the shocks new? And did you just bolt the top of the springs to the frame?

Re: Leaf spring crossmember exhaust interference?
With a 6" drop, I as curious how much room for mufflers there will be left.
All of the cross members, brackets etc... were from a frame section that I bought and refurbished. The top of the springs bolt to the frame/shock cross member and are retained with a spring cup. |
