My truck engine
Hi Folks, I am new here.
I have a 1956 GMC 100 with a 350 engine that has a 4 bolt main. I have been going nutzo trying to cross reference the motor stamping to what is the actual motor. The code on the front of the engine block is VO921TJW and the Casting number is 10771. Anybody that can help me find out what this engine year and type are would be greatly appreciated. Jim Hansen: |

Re: My truck engine
Hi Jim,
V stands for the Flint plant. 0921 : September 21. TJW suggests a 350 built in 1973 or 1974 -one run with that code in 1980 too. Output was 155HP for '73 and 160HP for '74. Those engines were made for trucks and vans. As for the casting numbers, can't find anything. |

Re: My truck engine
Welcome... There's also a lot of knowledge in the engine section of the forums.
