Heater fan still runs
I have a 79 K10 with AC and when the key is on, ya know before you start it, the fan runs. its not fast but it does. And yes all the switches are off. does anyone elses do that? its just someting else taking power away when the truck starts. not a big deal but why have a fan going if you dont need it.

Yes, I have a '73 and it is on when the key is on. Is it supposed to do that? I don't know....

Yeah, it is suppost to run all the time so long as the key is in the on position, engine running or not. It provides a supply of fresh air to the cab, thats why it eventually stops stinkin after breaking the wind, and also why you don't die when sitting at a red light for ten minutes due to carbon monoxide...

Hook it up to a toogle switch and you can cut it offin the summer so it does not blow more hot air in cab. As far as carbon monoxide my cab get plenty of fresh air through the numorous leaks in the cab.
