Stripped out heater box
I was replacing my blower motor this weekend and the holes in the box are stripped out. I squirted in some fiber glass resin and drilled out and it did not take. Any thoughts out there? Should i drill out bigger and jam some fibers in the hole? Seemed like the resin did not adhere to the box. I have a 79 c10. Fiberglass box.

What about those clip on nuts or using butterfly bolts

Re: Stripped out heater box
I would clean out the resin you put on there, and chop up some fiberglass mat and mix it with some epoxy, then fill and re-drill the holes after it sets up good.

Re: Stripped out heater box
Those clips could work if i modified the box. The box is flat. But each screw hole has a thicker portion added to give the screw more to bite. I would have to cut these off. An option of my glass fiber option does not work
Thanks

Re: Stripped out heater box
How about a rivet nut insert?
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072QWZPWK Or possibly a threaded nut insert? You can tighten the insert down, clamping it onto the heater box. Add in some loctite or epoxy and it should never come out while backing out a screw. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00YJDZ2JS |
