Regular or Shorty's (Headers)
Its time start thinking about exhaust now that the Big Block is being built.
What are you guys running for Headers, Regular length or shorty's ? Likes and dis-likes? Fit ? , Performance ? ect ect Thanks Steve

I've got the dyno-max ceramic coated headers full length and the hang down probally 2 inches below the frame. I got them from summitt. I havent cranked the engine so I could return them for some chevelle 3/4 length headers to help tuck the exhaust up some.

hooker super comps. granted i have a small block and havent fired it up yet they seem to fit nicely..... i also heard that shorty headers dont give you all the advantage as long tube..... but the 3/4's seem to be about the same as long tube.

Ive got Sanderson shortys on my 75 C-15 454. The full length headers that were on it were dragging on the ground(its lowered quit a bit ).
Full length headers generally give more low end torque, while shortys give more top end with some sacrafice in torque. I personally didnt notice any change in performance either way, if I lost any low end, its not noticable, itll still fry the tires forever. John

I have Headman's on my bigblock. The motor is on the stock 72 smallblock towers and I have no problems what so ever...

I have full length Hedmans on my '70 lowered about 5" up front. I haven't driven it since being lowered, but I foresee much scraping ahead...

I have also heard long tube give better torque but shorties are the way to go if you are planning to lower the front.
