Re: 69 LWB Power Tour Rig

And it's on the ground! Did a test drive up 101 to the Vista Point and it drives WAY better. Much more to do, but the truck is a driver again!!!

Re: 69 LWB Power Tour Rig

Got most of the truck done! Vintage Air unit installed and working. Coolant leak gone, all cleaned up. Just need to blast the glove box door, paint it and install it; do a couple misc things to tidy it up. Really it's ready to drive, but just some things bugging me to take care of!
Here's some pics.

Much, much, much better. Vintage air installed, glove box painted, everything works and ready to go.

Re: 69 LWB Power Tour Rig

OK back to the truck! Been busting my butt trying to get my shop together so that I could do what I have been planning for two years - to paint the truck! Built a paint booth, grabbed a blast cabinet and a portable blast tank, 29 gallon compressor, carts, built a dolly for panels, etc. Only thing I am missing is the Miller 211 (soon!).

I bought new repro fenders, doors, and tailgate, and got a straight rust free cowl. Going to start by tearing down the truck, and doing some test painting to one of the old fenders to get used to the paint guns. Going to do Matte black with a white top.

While it's apart I am cleaning up the suspension, doing a power steering swap, doing some different wheels and tires, and possibly doing a r&p swap. Got a full serpentine setup from a 90's truck I will be installing, tired of belt squeal! Got a great deal on a '71 12 bolt so that I can ditch the spacers in the back on my old, narrower 12 bolt, and bought a killer non-tilt column that was the exact match for my interior from a board member here.

Have to finish building a vent setup for my blast cabinet, and then I'm all ready to start on the project! Hoping to have the truck done by October or so, fingers crossed!

Re: 69 LWB Power Tour Rig

The tear down begins Thursday, not much room to get around the truck but I'll manage....
