Question about fiber-optic for trans indicator

I just finished rebuilding a auto column from a 72 which is going in my 68 gmc. I noticed that the light for the auto shift indicator is a fiber optic cable. How do I go about getting this to work on my 68? Or do I need to find an older version that will hook to my lights?

Thanks!

you will need the dash light socket that the fiber optic plugs into,
that should be it
