Re: Converting Oil Pressure Gauge
I would ask, do you want it to look stock when finished? It is possible but takes a few modifications to look and function correctly.
Like most gauges, they require a 12 volt source, a ground and a signal to/from the sending unit.

Re: Converting Oil Pressure Gauge
One good reason would be to eliminate the potential of having hot oil spraying around your cab. No, it's not very likely, but with an electric gauge it's not even possible.

Re: Converting Oil Pressure Gauge
MoMa gauge in Albuquerque converted the OEM pressure in my k20 to electric. Looking at the cluster from the driver seat you can't tell. I have pics in my build thread.

Re: Converting Oil Pressure Gauge
Back when I was building my truck I fired it up once before the gauges were connected, not remembering there was AN OIL HOSE coming into my cab.
It did indeed shoot out a lot of oil, all onto a rag that was sitting there. Minor miracle, really, even though carpet isn't -that- expensive. I've never seen an electric gauge that really looked like ours but if the sweep is similar you might be able to "make" one out of a cheap electric gauge and the factory face.

Re: Converting Oil Pressure Gauge
Gotta love having that little oil pipe there under the dash! Nowadays mines all electric, but back in the day, I've made a few small messes myself with this thing!
