WTB 69-72 Chevy Right Front fender

Rusty may be OK as long as it's straight, and bondo free.

Ken, I have the one listed in the thread below. Shipping would be a killer though.

There is one other member interested in this fender but we have not worked out a deal yet.

Hey, I appreciate the reply, but I'm gonna try to hold out for one with a little less rust, thanks again.

Hey Ken. NPD in Ocala has decent repops for $168. Freight might suck but if you could pick it up you'd probably be ahead.

Re: WTB 69-72 Chevy Right Front fender

I drove all the way to NPD in Ocala 2 weeks ago and picked up a fender from them, it's the worst fitting fender I have ever seen, the whole front leading edge was shaped wrong to the point the grill wouldn't fit over it. The rear edge was so uneven that it would have to be cut and refolded or somehow reseam the rear. Even the top edge had a bow in it that made the gap between the fender and hood uneven. The one I got from GMC Pauls had similar issues, and it was 5/8 of an inch too long overall and 3/8 of an inch too wide. Even my body man, who is a GM classic car expert said these two fenders were the worst he had ever seen. When the shaping on the front is wrong, it would take him way too many man hours to fix it to be worthwhile. Its sad that the sheetmetal industry sells crap and they know it. I guess I'm gonna have to make another 2 hour trip back to Ocala to return the fender to NPD, GMC Pauls won't take the one I purchased from them back. But anyway thanks for the reply.

Re: WTB 69-72 Chevy Right Front fender

Hey Reno, that is depressing news, sheet metal runs in batches if they get the first stamp right, then it is usually a good run. But if its off at all, then the whole batch is junk.
I have a pretty decent right, that i can get you some pics of . Im working 12s, so it may be friday before i can get pics to ya.
Let me dig it out and we will sed what we can figure out.

Yes, I'm interested in the right hand fender you have, I understand about the long hours, I'm there too. I'll be standing by.
Thanks,
