Lightbulb Rocker Switches Mounted In Ashtray Face

Hello all, I've recently installed an ARB locker and as a result I have to install minimum two, most likely going to be 5 rocker switches. I could go the easy way and install them under the dash, but I think it might be a cool project to install them in the ashtray face. I have never used the ashtray, so why not make it into something functional. The best part for me about the switches is the aftermarket has so many faces available. Below I have pictures related to the mod and what it might look like. What do you guys think? Thanks!

IMO it would look better if the whole ashtray
area was switches

As long as they match each other, unlike your photoshoped switches.

Re: Rocker Switches Mounted In Ashtray Face

I am glad you posted the pic. I bought the same contura switches and faces for my front e-locker, a/c compressor and seat heaters. I thought they looked too modern so they are still in the box. They actually do not look bad against the ventilation controls.

Re: Rocker Switches Mounted In Ashtray Face

Photoshop, bah. The real pros use MSPaint, ha. Yeah it's a rough mockup, but it gets the point across. I wanted to modify the ashtray faceplate so I dont have to cut the dash, I just hate cutting into a classic. Although I do think it would look better with the cut dash and plastic housing insert.

I just hadn't seen anybody put rocker switches in this area yet, if anyone has please post some pics!
