Sway bar question

I am installing an aftermarket sway bar with end links. Is the goal to have the sway bar dead level after install? Having to trim and what not and haven't done one before so wanted to clarify. The end links straight up and down and bar level ? Seems logical but iam a hack so better ask.thanks for the help

Yes, at ride height, the bar ends should be parallel to the ground.
