Re: Proper way to cutout metal dash face to be reused

This is how i did my repair to the radio hole
Most of the weld seams i hid, but i did have to metal finish underneath across the bottom. No filler, and used some blend solvent in my single stage Centari. Turned out good, most of the welds are hidden under the dashpad

The best way is to not cut anything. Unbolt it, pull the windshield and remove the spotwelds along the windshield seam. I think it’s actually less work to remove and put it in that way.

Agreed, drilling out factory spotwelds is alot better and easier than cutting and then trying to weld back together.

Look up Roto-Broach cutters.Well worth the money. You can buy cheap spot weld cutters, but you just get cheap cutters.

yea i have one of those, just making sure i`m doing it the easiest, cleanest way, and i don`t want to screw up the lower windshield lip, as this is a super nice dash i`m removing. thanks
