Re: Is my tank supposed to have straps??

Awesome. Have you decided on where your fill neck is going. I’m going to attempt this setup when I get to that point. I found this pic online so I can’t credit who did it.

I like that mod, I also like the side marker door. But I’m just gonna mount a rectangle box to the inside of the bed. Somewhere in between the stake pocket and the wheel well. I was gifted with short legs and short arms so I’m gonna need a fill near the top of the bed or at least higher than the bed bottom.

I already have a metal box I can trim up and make work. Although I thought it might be cool to mount an ammo box (50 cal) in that location and have the fill neck inside the box (so u would open lid to fuel up). Either way it’s gonna be simple, probably use sheet metal screws to mount the box (but a 50cal can would get bolted to the floor). This bed is REALLY ROUGH and I plan to replace it in the future when funds allow. So I won’t be spending too much time/energy and money on the fill. Plus I want to be able to easily pull off whatever I do when I switch beds.

Anyone know the approx length of the straps for these tanks?? I forgot to measure last night and I'd like to pick some up at lowes on my way home.

Got the straps mounted. Also cut out another 5.5" of crossmember to clear the fill hose.
