Something doesn't look right
1964 C10 belongs to the shop owner. passenger window had came off the track. Seemed like an easy fix. Going back together I noticed that the window would not roll up all the way, stopped about an inch short of the top of he door frame. Messed with it a bit and got it all the way up but he strip on the bottom where it attaches to the regulator is now sitting above the weatherstrip on the doors. The drivers side is the same way but not quite as bad. It seriously looks like the glass is too short. What am i missing here? Thanks.
Nick

Re: Something doesn't look right
Looks like a typical Chinese fuzzy. They built them a bit wrong. Lots of posts on here about it.

Re: Something doesn't look right
On these doors the metal track attached to the bottom of the glass is designed to roll up in between those belt lines that are sticking up in your picture.
What I have seen in the past is when replacing these belt lines the metal shell of the door where these parts attach get distorted, and when new parts are installed they stick out and the belt line then catches on the metal track attached to the glass when you roll the door glass up. Remedy: roll the door glass all the way down into the door and try to spread the lower edges of the belt lines apart from each other so the track can enter between the belt lines when you roll the door glass back up. |

Re: Something doesn't look right
There has been much interest in the past about this:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=707217 http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...d.php?t=686833 The end result on everything pretty much ended on what 68JOHNDEERE said to do above.
