Heater core box
I’m looking to clean up and remove some un needed stuff in my engine bay and was curious to knowin if the heater core box can be removed?

Yes, As i recall, 3 or 4 bolts hold it on to the firewall. One bolt on top nearest the engine is hard to access, so a flex extension and inspection mirror would be best to get at it. Reinstallation is best as a two person job, but you can use small screwdrivers or drift pins to line up the holes if you are working alone.
The foam seal between the box and the firewall will likely be shot, so you can get some adhesive backed foam door weatherstripping from Home Depot or Lowes to replace it. If you are really anal like me, you can get some metal duct tape while you are there and go around the edge of the box, and also use that tape to seal all of the connections on the HVAC duct work. Sealing those ducts makes a big difference in how much air comes out of the vents. |

You can pull it, but you will lose the fan for the heat/defroster.
