72 Chevy C20 control arm bolt hole wallowed out
I have several ideas but thought I might pick your brains first. I have a C20 and the upper control arm holes are wallowed out so need a repair suggestion. I thought to drill the hole out and bush back to stock size or a flat backer plate welded to the frame to stabilize the bolt. Front end guy suggested just welding in the bolt but concerned with bolt alignment and future repairs etc. Any thought or experience with this issue? Thanks

How about replacing with a good used one?

Post pic of part.
I've used a copper backing plate to weld holes shut and redrilled before. |
