Adding A/C to truck.
My '69 doesn't have factory air, but i do need a new dash panel since the stereo was cut out. Will all i need to buy is a dash panel for A/C?? I noticed the A/C dash has 2 holes (1 for driver and passenger) and 2 windshield defroster vents. Is that the only differences?? Thanks.

The firewall is different also. It will have to be modified if you are adding a factory AC set up. I am not sure about the aftermarket kits .

You will still have to cut holes for your dash vents.

Re: Adding A/C to truck.
There is a vent in the center above radio ,do a search on here been covered several times and it is not that hard to do .I and several others cut the dash face out and replaced with a A/C dash face plus installed the cowl vent door and modified the firewall for factory A/C.

Re: Adding A/C to truck.
So theres 3 vents? Driver, passenger, above the radio?? And 2 for the wind shield?? I need a new dash panel. The origanl had the original radio stolen, it was cut out.

You could under mount the vents if you dont want to cut your dash.

Re: Adding A/C to truck.
You'll need a drain hole for the evaporator run off water, so that's another hole in the firewall!

Re: Adding A/C to truck.
Vintage Air in my 68, I used the entire dash panel from an air truck. We cut it apart at the windshield pinch weld. Pics in my build. My cab wasn't a factory air cab.
The latest kit from VA has everything you need. If I ever do another one I'd go the same route, no question.
