Noise when in gear
Hi guys I’ve got my 72 C10 shortbed. I motor swapped the truck last year with few problems, I recently moved and had the truck sitting for about 3 months but starting it occasionally. I took a drive yesterday and when I put it in gear and give it gas I’m hearing a noise as if the starter is getting hung up but when I go back into park and rev it I don’t hear the noise. Now can the start possibly be making that noise or can it be something to do with the transmission? Thank you!

Re: Noise when in gear
Is it an auto trans. or manual?

Re: Noise when in gear
Nice ride! check the flywheel/torque converter cover underneath. it sounds like it may be loose? when you put it in park there is no torque or twist which may explain why its quiet in park. next step, check the tranny bolts to the bellhousing. I had this happen when i was younger after my first tranny swap. hope its that simple!!
