My '77 tank(er)
Hi gang,
Quick intro here....fell in love with the sound of 2 stroke diesels and after searching what to put one in I came across this site and a few pics of people converting medium duty trucks to dually pickups. So that is my plan. Acquired a 77 Chevy C65 firetruck tanker single drive with a tag axle. The cab is near perfect for something of that vintage here in Ontario. Will get some pics when I get a chance. It just came home a couple weeks ago. Also found a similar vintage C60 single axle. I will need to swap leaf springs and mounts on my truck when I shorten it. Plan is to shorten to a support a dually box. Swap in a 4-53 and maybe some paint if my spouse would ever come for a ride in it. Need more time in the day! Krusty |

Sounds cool! Pics, man, pics, haha. And maybe for the less knowledgeable like myself, an explanation of what applications two stroke diesels would usually be in. I'm familiar with diesel engines and familiar with 2 stroke gas engines, but I have not been aware of a two stroke diesel. Similar concept I would guess?

This would be a similar build. I am sure there are others who could detail the beautiful aspects of a 2 stroke detroit, but they come in 53, 71, 92 series and more if you get into EMD builds. Used in medium and heavy trucks, boats, buses, machinery.
