Need help picking tire size for 17' wheels
Im trying to figure what size tires to get for my 83 c10. Its lowered 5.5 inches in front with 3 inch spindles and chopped coils and 7 in the rear with a flip kit and 2 inch shackles. The wheels are 17X7 Ridler 650s. Im wondering if I should get staggered tires or same size all around. What u guys think?
Here are some pics

Re: Need help picking tire size for 17' wheels
Just came off 17x8's with 255/60/17's and though they worked all around, they rubbed when hitting transition bumps (at over passes) on the highway. Other than that they were great.

Re: Need help picking tire size for 17' wheels
Ended up going with 225/45/17 and they way too small. The front is dropped even more than when I had my rallies on with 255/60/15s and it bottoms out easily. Got a skid plate protecting my oil pan luckily. Will be looking into bigger tires for sure n will put these ones on my bimmer

Re: Need help picking tire size for 17' wheels
wow...those tires are small...rims look good
you went from a 27" to a 26" tire a 255/50-17 would have kept your tire size about the same as your 15s I would be looking for something around a 255/65 to 70 at the min.... around 30-31" heres a good tire size chart....https://tiresize.com/chart/

Re: Need help picking tire size for 17' wheels
The reason I got it that small is cuz the previous tires were rubbing on the fenders. I should’ve gotten 225/50/17...also I was told 255s are too wide for a 17x7 wheels. Any input on this?

Re: Need help picking tire size for 17' wheels
a 225/50 is still a small tire..only 25.9 tall
7" rim is on the very bottom side of the size chart for a 255....probably not the best rim width for those...8" is middle of the rd it shows a 7 to 9" width for those http://www.etmags.com/pdf_download_d...chart_2010.pdf
