Swing Aware Spare Tire Holder Exterior 1972

Off my 1972 Jimmy. Worked perfect. No bends or problems. Never abused. I removed it carefully with every bracket, nut, bolt, and washer included. Im not sure what to list it for, a friend said they are worth $150 (+ shipping) in the (excellent) condition mine is. Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks, Travis

Travis;
Did you ever find a tire carrier for the inside of your Blazer? If not I have one I would trade you for the swing away carrier, I would even pay to ship mine to you and help out on shipping of yours to me if your interested. Let me know. Dave

Re: Swing Aware Spare Tire Holder Exterior 1972

Is there ANY way I can get you to make a copy of those instructions and mail them to me?!?!? I bought a tire carrier a while back (needs rehab) but did not have any documentation. Please let me know! I am missing the insert pieces that go inside the bed wall so any help I can get in making new ones would be great!

Chris, if you do an exact copy of the outer brackets, the inners will fit pretty much the same. Bend, twist, then tap matching holes and you should be good to go. You will just need a thin piece of rebar tacked onto the upper to get it into place. Huck

Guess it is time to put mine up there...

Do I get a cut for providing the installation instructions?

Re: Swing Aware Spare Tire Holder Exterior 1972

I was just joking about the cut - just trying to help out.

It may seriously be time for me to put mine up on ebay - it is collecting dust and I can use the $ to buy some other things for my project and get it done.

Thanks though.

Re: Swing Aware Spare Tire Holder Exterior 1972

I need a swing away tire carrier for my 72 K5. Just missed one on ebay due to computer glitch during bidding. I felt like I was going to have the big one! I am calm now and have made up with my computer. Any help would be appreciated. theclaybuster@hotmail.com

I think it was the picture with the hubcaps that sealed the deal! Nice sale.... Too bad a member didn't snatch it a $150. Sharpie

Re: Swing Aware Spare Tire Holder Exterior 1972

If I don't find one soon, I am going to borrow one from my friend and have it duplicated by a fabricator. In fact I may have sevral made to fill the needs of the Blazer community. Rear seat brackets and tire carriers seem to be in high demand with no reproduction parts ava.
