Lock up switch idea

Presently in the last stages of a Powerglide to 200-4R conversion and had an idea regarding a lock up switch. I remember my old Dodge Dakota had the overdrive switch on the end of the shifter arm. Electrically this is easy if a momentary contact switch is used with a relay. But what about mechanically? Has anyone ever attempted such a hybrid of part combinations?

Re: Lock up switch idea

So you manually want to lock up your converter? That's direct drive and if you aren't on top of it, can mess the TCC up fast. Not to mention, you leave it on when you stop and its like leaving the clutch engages in a manual trans car.

Re: Lock up switch idea

By using a momentary contact switch and a relay, ooops forgot the normally closed brake switch and line pressure switch, anytime the brake is depressed the circuit has to be reset, or if line pressure falls the same occurs. Electrically it is just like a push button motor starter. Just curious if anyone has tried alternative shifter arms inside the truck with an internal/integrated switch.
If I devise a solution it will appear here.
