Single Wall Vs Double Wall
What are the differences between a single and double wall top? Also what are the advantages of one, over the other?

The biggest difference I think is that a single wall bolts to the bed from the top down almost like a pickup topper would, where the double wall bolts from the bottom thus hiding the bolts. From my own little bit of knowledge the single is a little lighter but not as strong or as durable.

The single wall tops bolt from the top rails down and the double walls bolt from under the bed rails. To get to the bolts you have to remove the bedside covers. My single wall has interior lights built-in also.

Double wall is a lot heavier --not that the single wall is light!! Aside from the method of attachment---and that the single wall has lights built in, many of the double wall tops tend to warp on the roof so that the top looks like it has a sunken section--which in fact it does. Why it does this I don't know. Another issue with the double wall is that it has a seem that goes right down the middle of the top. This tends to open over time and you wind up wanting to patch it. For my $$$, the single wall is the better of the two---keeping in mind that neither one would protect you from a rollover as they were not built for that.

double wall
I just purchased a '71 2wd Blazer. I noticed that the bolting is hidden,... but didn't know for sure if that made it a double wall. Were double wall tops only available on the A/C Blazers? How many people take the double wall tops off? Seems like it would be a pain to remove the side panel every time. I will post some pics as soon as I can get it cleaned up. Thanks to everyone.
