I'm looking at getting new wheels, and I need to know if 5.25" back spacing will work.

I have drop spindles on the front and rear springs in the back if that helps. I'm also planning on using a 275/50/17 tire.

If anyone has pictures of this size wheel on their truck I'd like to see them.

mine are close to that size 17x9 with 4.25 backspaceing with 275/55-17 all four corners.

I purchased a set of Torq Thrust II's in this size with the stock 5.5" backspacing and have 275/50's on back. My truck is a fleetside and I am running ECE airbags. At ride height, I can rub the insides of the tires on the inner fenders if I get too much of an angle on the rear axle (entering a driveway for instance). I was forced to purchase 1.25" spacers for the rear axle. A 4" to 4.5" backspacing should take care of the problem.

what size are those wheels?

I can also get 17x8 in 4.5 backspacing.

As the title of my post mentioned, I am running 17" x 9.5" (5.5" backspacing) on the back, and 17" x 8" (4" backspacing) on the front. The fronts fit great with 255/50's. The rears caused a problem. If you are set to go with the 17" x 9.5" size, I would recommend a 4.25" - 4.5" backspacing, thereby shifting the tires outward from the axle and providing the added clearance from the inner fenders on the rear.

I have 18"x9.5" wheels on the back of my '67 (however, I have the '71-'72 wider rear end). My wheels have 5.25" backspacing and my tires are 285/40/18 (11.22" wide). I've had only very slight rubbing on the inner wheel tub, but my ride height is pretty low also.
